Perceived Superiority Complex and Interpersonal Relationships in Medical Libraries in Nigeria: Confirmatory Factor Analysis Approach

This study examined the extent of library personnel's understanding concept 'superiority complex', its existence in medical libraries Nigeria and how it influences their interpersonal relationships. The adopted a quantitative method using survey as research design. Total enumeration sampling technique was used to select all personnel 300 Nigeria. An online questionnaire collect data. Data were analyzed descriptive statistics (frequency counts, mean standard deviation) inferential structural equation modeling. Seventy-eight participated study. Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed that measurement model produced an acceptable fit: x2= 476.090, df= 328, CFI= 0.898, TLI= 0.882, RMSEA= 0.077(0.061-0.091), RMR=0.098 SRMR= 0.072. Further empirical evidence even at moderate level, perceived superiority complex had negative relationship with relationships among results suggest decrease is highly beneficial increasing positive participants. Wherefore, significance findings this lies fact will create awareness on need identify affected for appropriate counselling or psychotherapy recommendation. Self-assessment seeking help are also crucial reducing level checking attitudes detrimental professionalism.
